Challenges

The English Premier League starts on 16th August 2025. The challenge is between us to cycle pr walk around each of the 20 clubs in the league, starting and ending in Rugby. Looking to get sponsored for as little a 1p per 10km. DO that between us and we could raise up to £1200 for the Vascular and Cardiac pots in the UHCW Charity. Please help and support us. To achieve this, we will record the distance you cover in the class. No extra activity is needed.

How much exercise should I do

The chief medical officers guidelines talk about 150 minutes of moderate intensity exercise (for instance a brisk walk) a week, if you break that down it can equate to 30 mins for 5 days, you should also look to do strength, flexibility and balance work at least twice a wee.

These are minimums and obviously more is better. If you attend a gym sessiononce a week you will cover at least 30 to 50 mins of this and one of the strength days, dependant upon your program. If you attend twice in a week you can see how this is further advanced. On the days you do notattend the gym stay active, keep moving and limit sedentary time.

How many classes are there a week.

Currently classes run on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. a Total of 10 classes.

Monday between - 11am - 3pm

Tuesday between 4pm and 7:30pm

Wednesday between 4:30pm and 6:30pm

Can I do more than 1 class a week

You can do as many classes a week as you like, space permitting of course. I would always recommend however that you look to have a day off between sessions which can be difficult with the current schedule to this end I am looking at starting classes on a Thursday evening also - coming soon - so watch this space

Can anyone attend

You will have completed either a Cardiac or Vascular rehab programme to be able to attend the sessions. I do, again space permitting open it up to guest you may invite. If not accessing via the rehab route a PARQ would need to be completed prior to being allowed to participate. Speak to Dave for more info

How do I exercise at home

Any exercise you can do on top of your gym sessions is great. Follow the YouTube link at the bottom of the home screen to access at home equipment free short exercise videos
